Ten Tips When Teaching A New Driver
1. Identify our vehicle as a "STUDENT DRIVER."
2. I use "the passenger rear view mirror."
3. We Review the driving skills to re-teach our student.
4. Being patient, going slow, taking time, & re-assure our student.
5. We allow only Trainer and students in the vehicle.
Keeping distractions to a minimum; No Radio or ( expect for trainer ) Cell Phones!
6. Giving begin basic instruction in a school or church parking lot; where traffic is light.
7. Giving advance training neighborhood then expand training onto heavier traveled roads.
8. Using "Training Format" to map progress.
9. Setting up and staying with a consistent driver training schedule.
10. Should an emergency situation should arise, mine & your best friend is "The BRAKE!"
By being patient, taking no unnecessary risks and allowing our student time to learn by anticipating traffic in front them making sudden lane changes, sudden stops or turns, and plain old fashion, NOT PAYING ATTENTION.
